In Memory of Kita:
Both of us were almost three, We grew up together, under that cherry tree,
Lunch was mandatory for you, But one day it was not all true,
You wouldn’t eat it, that’s for sure, You couldn’t eat it anymore,
The next day, you looked fine, But we had now made up our mind,
We took you to the vet, He said that you wouldn’t die yet,
He said that you were bleeding, And a surgery was what you were needing,
A few days later they took you in, But that was the day that I slept in,
I didn’t think that you could die, But it’s too late now to say good-bye,
Many happy days were spent, Until that day you went,
I’ll remember you forever Kita, Every time that I look North,
I will never forget The day we first met,
Both of us were almost three, But we grew up together under that big old cherry tree

| Kita Riesco:
The
Riescos adopted Kita from the Sunshine Coast SPCA in September of 1999
when she was three years old. She was labeled a mixed breed, possibly
a Gordon Setter/Collie Cross. Much later, after intensive research and
daily observation Sam came to the conclusion that Kita was not in fact
a mixed breed, but a purebred German Hovawart. Kita was a loving and
much loved member of our family. Throughout her life, she had a
passion for food and an admirable spirit. Despite a rocky start in
life as a stray on the beach, Kita proved herself to be a wonderful
Agility dog and a steadfast companion. In June of 2009, Kita was
diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer, Hemangiosarcoma and passed
away on July 8th, 2009. She leaves behind her adopted brother Twinkie,
a Maltese JRT Cross and many happy memories. We love you Kita! The
Riescos.
